Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter or oleo
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  • Sift flour, measure, sift with baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and butter with sugar. Add vanilla, egg, and milk. Beat thoroughly. Add flour. Mix. Chill. Roll 1/8 inch thick. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
