Stuffed Mushrooms Imperial

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick (1/4 c butter
  • 4 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 8 giant mushroom caps stems reserved and ch
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8x8 baking dish. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Add shallots and saute until limp. Add nuts and chopped mushroom stems and saute an additional 3 minutes. Mix in bread crumbs, thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Fill mushroom caps with mixture. Place in baking dish and bake 15 minutes.
