Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Peel potatoes and slice down through each at 1/8-inch intervals, but do not slice completely through. Pat potatoes dry. Generously butter a baking dish and place potatoes in it, cut side up. Baste potatoes with 2 tablespoons of the melted butter and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 30 minutes. Baste with remaining butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake another 15 minutes until done.
