  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms sliced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  • Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and oil. Mix well. Gradually add flour to form stiff dough. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, cover with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
  • Brown meat in a large skillet with onion and garlic. Drain grease. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes and let cool.
  • Combine all ingredients for Cheese Filling and mix well.
  • Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle. Place in a greased 11x17” jelly roll pan, easing dough gently to fit up the sides. Spread with cheese filing. Roll out remaining dough and fit over cheese filling. Cover with meat sauce. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese, oregano and Parmesan cheese and bake an additional 15 minutes or until golden.
