Date Torte

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup short?
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking power
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 1/2 cup dates

Instructions

  • Beat eggs well, add sugar, dates and nuts with flour and baking powder. Add to the rest. Bake in shallow pan. Break in pieces and serve with whipped cream.

Notes

Handwritten in original Rudeen Family Cookbook 2003. Florence noted that the recipe was from "Grandma H." - that would be Grandma Hanson (Hulda).
