Stuffed Mushrooms Imperial

These are a delicious accompaniment to any holiday meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 stick (1/4 c butter
  • 4 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 8 giant mushroom caps stems reserved and ch
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8×8 baking dish. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Add shallots and saute until limp. Add nuts and chopped mushroom stems and saute an additional 3 minutes. Mix in bread crumbs, thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Fill mushroom caps with mixture. Place in baking dish and bake 15 minutes.
