Lola’s Rye Bread

This recipe was originally in Lola’s handwriting. Very brief. Hope all you bread makers can figure out how to do this one.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cakes yeast
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 2/3 cups lard or shortening
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 3 cups rye flour
  • 2 tablespoons salt

Instructions
 

  1. Mix stiff with white flour. Knead a lot.
