Swiss Chocolate Squares

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup margarine divided
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate divided
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 4 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
 

  1. Combine water, 1/2 cup margarine and 1-1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 degrees 20-25 minutes. While baking, combine 1/2 cup margarine, 6 tablespoons milk and 1-1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate in saucepan. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add confectioner”s sugar and beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla. Frost cake while warm. Optional: Garnish with pecan halves.
