Sautéed Apples

Laura Watne
These are a staple in our house. I think our family eats them more often for dinner than breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pound Granny Smith apples peeled cored and sliced
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg freshly grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple juice

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a heavy skillet. Add the apples and cook over medium heat until they begin to soften. Add the nutmeg, cinnamon and honey. Cook until most of the liquid is evaporated. Add the apple juice, tossing to combine. Keep warm until ready to serve.
  2. Serving Ideas: these taste great on Norwegian pancakes, puffed oven pancake and waffles.
