Russian Tea Cakes

We made these at Christmas almost every year.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sifted confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

Instructions
 

  1. Mix butter, confectioner”s sugar, and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in flour and salt. Mix in nuts. Chill dough. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until set, not brown. While still warm, roll in confectioner”s sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.
