Peanut Brittle

This is originally from Thelma Pearson. Diane–I can remember waiting for Thelma’s box of Christmas Candy every year when growing up.
Ingredients Instructions

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup white syrup
  • 1/2 pound raw peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon soda

Instructions
 

  1. Put syrup, sugar and peanuts in kettle. Boil all together until honey color. Add soda and stir. Pour on to buttered cookie sheets. They should have sides on them. When hard and cool, break into bite-sized pieces.
