Meat and Rice

Another Lebanese recipe. This is super quick and easy and kids love it. It might sound unique to have cinnamon with meat, but it’s delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts toasted in butter
  • 2 cups converted rice uncooked
  • 4 cups chicken broth or water

Instructions
 

  1. Sauté meat, onion and seasonings until almost done. Add pine nuts and continue sautéing for 5 minutes more. Add rice and chicken broth or water. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
