Grits and Sausage Casserole

A family favorite for brunches.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 8 ounces green chili chopped
  • 3 cups grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  1. Brown and drain sausage. Cook grits according to package directions. Combine grits with beaten eggs, margarine, green chili, and Cheddar cheese. Spread 1/2 of grits mixture in a 12×8 pan. Cover with sausage. Cover sausage with remaining grits. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Sprinkle a little cheese on top.
