Rudeens like to eat!

The 2003 Rudeen Family Reunion at the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado was special: we all got our first-edition copies of the “Rudeen Family Cookbook”.

Everyone had contributed recipes to our “cookbook committee”: Amy Fidel, Becky Sadler and Diane Alsbrooks. A total of 412 recipes were submitted! The original printing was a spiral-bound book. Later printings were in a small three-ring binder.

With all the changes in technology, it’s probably no longer possible to reprint the cookbook in its original paper form. However, Amy Fidel has been very diligent about maintaining the recipes in digital format. Thanks to her, we’re able to post on this website all the recipes from the original cookbook, organized in the same chapters and in the same page order. The cookbook committee completed another round of proof-reading to make sure all the recipes are accurate.

You can help us put the finishing touches on this digital version of the cookbook by submitting your photos! We would love to see “action photos” featuring your favorite Rudeen Family recipes!

By the way, if you are a Paprika user, you can download the entire recipe collection here.

Foreward (from original cookbook)

We thought about a family tree (got too complicated) so we tried to mention the relationships in a note at the bottom of each recipe. As editors (typers), we took a little license in how this went together.

We just hope everyone enjoys having all these “special recipes” in one place.

Thanks again!!!
